The Amur Maple, scientifically known as Acer ginnala, can be found more or less around parts of China, Manchuria and Japan. It normally look like small tree, 15 to 20' tall, making it a unique plant! In the summer, more or less, its foliage is opposite, 1.5" to 3" long and in the automn it generally looks like typically showy red, but can be yellow (genotype dependent). The Amur Maple (Acer ginnala) has flowers that are small, pale yellow, in clusters in early spring and grows fruits that are samaras 0.75" to 1" long. An interesting characteristic it has is its bark, where we can see grayish brown on truck and old branches on it. An interesting information to note about the way it is cultured would be that performs best in colder climates (cool summers) An inconvenient with the Amur Maple can be that relatively trouble-free We can easily identify Acer ginnala having its leaf shape distinctive for a maple.
