The Balsam Fir, which is also referred as Abies balsamea, i usually found close to most of northern United States and into Canada. It usually looks like evergreen tree, making it an uncommon plant! In the summer, the form of its leafs is more or less needles are variable, up to 1" long and in the automn its foliage then is no fall color (evergreen). The Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea) grows flowers that are no ornamental value and the fruits it has are brown resinous cones. It has a beautiful Bark, where we can see dull green turning gray with age on it. A fact to point at concerning its culture is that easily transplanted because of shallow root system However, an inconvinient with the Balsam Fir can be that loses nice "Christmas tree" shape with age A good way to identify a Abies balsamea with its two-ranked needles in a V-shape. The Balsam Fir's reproduction is very special since it is mainly done by seed, stratification period required for good germination
