The Castor-aralia, originally named Kalopanax pictus, can be found more or less around China, Korea and Japan. It normally look like a medium to large deciduous tree, making it an uncommon plant! In the summer, its foliage changes to a new form, more or less alternate, simple, palmately-lobed leaves and in the automn its foliage then is generally yellow and not overly impressive. The Castor-aralia (Kalopanax pictus) also has flowers being small white flowers in large, branched clusters and contains fruits that are small black fruits. Its bark is very interesting, where we can find shoots and stems are armed with prickles or thorns on it.
