Common Broom
Latin Name:      Cytisus scoparius location:      central and southern Europe
The Common Broom, originally named Cytisus scoparius, lives around central and southern Europe. It can generally be recognized as 4' to 6' tall deciduous shrub, making it a very special plant among others! In the summer, a special form of foliage appears, more or less deciduous and in the automn its foliage is specially fall color not ornamentally important. The Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius) has flowers that are blooms in May and into early June and the fruits it has are 1.5" to 2" pea-like pods. It has a beautiful Bark, where we can see stems are green year-round on it. A fact to point at concerning its culture is that needs full sun However, an inconvinient with the Common Broom can be that tends to be somewhat short-lived A good way to identify a Cytisus scoparius with its year-round green stem color. The Common Broom's propagation is very interesting since it performs it by cuttings for cultivars
