The Firethorn, known in its Latin name to be Pyracantha coccinea, i usually found close to southeastern Europe, the Himalayas and central China. It can generally be recognized as a semi-evergreen to evergreen shrub, making it a very interesting plant! In the summer, its foliage is more or less simple, evergreen, narrow-elliptical leaves and in the automn it can be described as although at least semi-evergreen foliage will bronze, turn brown and drop as the winter advances. The Firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea) grows flowers that are small white flowers borne in clusters and the fruits it has are 0.25" diameter berries. It has a special bark, where we can see glossy brown on it. An interesting fact about its culture would be that full sun for best performance and fruiting An inconvenient with the Firethorn can be that fireblight A good way to identify a Pyracantha coccinea having its semi-evergreen shrub.
