The Laurel Magnolia, in Latin Magnolia virginiana, i usually found close to eastern United States; more common in southeast. To recognize it it is mainly a semi-evergreen small tree, making it a plant very different from others. In the summer, a special form of foliage appears, more or less leaves are evergreen in the southeastern United States and in the automn its foliage then is typically not showy. The Laurel Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana) has flowers that are blooms in mid-June; sporadically during the summer and its fruits are more or less 2' long aggregate fruit. An interesting characteristic it has is its bark, where we can find smooth, dark gray on older branches and trunk on it. An important thing to know about the way it is cultured would be that tolerant of wet soils However, another characteristic with the Laurel Magnolia can be that chlorosis on high pH soils You can recognize a Magnolia virginiana having its smooth, green bark or twigs.
