The Maidenhair Tree, in Latin Ginkgo biloba, i usually found close to Eastern China. Its morphology is mainly deciduous, making it a fabulous plant! In the summer, its foliage looks like alternate, simple, 2"-3" long, triangular in shape and in the automn its foliage then is excellent yellow color. The Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba) has beautiful flowers that are not considered an ornamental feature and its fruits are more or less naked seed produced on female tree only. Its bark is very interesting, where we see grey to brown on it. A fact to point at concerning its culture is that prefers deep sandy soils and moderate moisture Also, an inconvinient with the Maidenhair Tree can be that no serious insect or pest problems A way to identify a Ginkgo biloba with its leaves triangular and may be 2 lobed. The Maidenhair Tree's reproduction is very special since it does it by seed, collect in fall (cold stratification is benefical)
