mountainous areas in Central and Southern Europe
The Mugo Pine, also called in Latin Pinus mugo, can be found more or less around mountainous areas in Central and Southern Europe. It normally look like evergreen dwarfed tree, making it an uncommon plant! In the summer, its leafs are changing looking like rigid and slightly curved needles and in the automn its foliage then is no fall color (remains green). The Mugo Pine (Pinus mugo) has flowers that are monoecious and grows fruits, characterized as dark gray cone. It has a beautiful Bark, where we can find gray on it. Something that is noticeable to know about its culture would be that prefers a deep, well-drained, loose soil, but also quite adaptable However, a bad thing with the Mugo Pine can be that scales can be a pest problem A good way to identify a Pinus mugo with its needles in 2's, stiff and curved. The Mugo Pine's propagation method is pretty interesting since it performs it by seed, no treatment or dormancy is needed for good germination
