The Purpleosier Willow, which has for Latin name Salix purpurea, can be found more or less around Europe, northern Africa to central Asia and Japan. It is usually shaped as a deciduous, large shrub, making it a fabulous plant! In the summer, a special form of foliage appears, more or less alternate (occasionally opposite) leaf arrangement and in the automn it generally looks like leaves turn purplish black.
