Red Horsechestnut
Latin Name:      Aesculus x carnea location:      a hybrid between A pavia
The Red Horsechestnut, also called in Latin Aesculus x carnea, i usually found close to a hybrid between A. pavia. It usually looks like medium shade tree; deciduous, making it a plant very different from others. In the summer, a special form of foliage appears, more or less opposite, palmately-compound leaves, usually with 5 leaflets and in the automn it is more or less similar to A. hippocastanum; brown. The Red Horsechestnut (Aesculus x carnea) has beautiful flowers that are blooms in late spring and grows fruits that are capsule, 1-1.5" long, round. It has a special bark, where we can find similar to A. hippocastanum; dark gray-brown, platy on old wood on it. An interesting fact about the way it is cultured would be that similar to other Aesculus However, a bad thing with the Red Horsechestnut can be that leaf, twig and fruit litter can be a problem We can easily recognize a Aesculus x carnea with its large, palmately compound leaves, smaller and darker green than A. hippocastanum. The Red Horsechestnut's propagation is very interesting since it is mainly done some reports indicate that A. x carnea breeds true, some that it is nearly sterile
