The Rock Maple, scientifically known as Acer saccharum, i usually found close to deciduous. It is usually shaped as large shade tree, making it a fabulous plant! In the summer, more or less, its foliage is opposite, 3" to 6" long and in the automn it is more or less excellent yellow, orange or red. The Rock Maple (Acer saccharum) has beautiful flowers that are small yellowish green, before leaves in April and its fruits are more or less samaras, 1" to 1.75" inches long. It has a special bark, where we see smooth gray-brown in youth on it. An important information to know regarding the way it is cultured is that does not perform well when root zone is restricted However, another characteristic with the Rock Maple can be that creates dense shade which reduces turf vigor It can be easy to recognize a Acer saccharum having its prominent, hard, pointed terminal bud; dark brown and gray, looks like an upside down sugar cone.
