The Scotch Pine, originally named Pinus sylvestris, i usually found close to the Europe, from Norway to Spain, and to parts of Asia. To recognize it it is mainly evergreen tree, making it an uncommon plant! In the summer, its foliage is more or less stiff, serrated, green to blue-green needles and in the automn it is more or less no fall color (evergreen). The Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris) also has flowers being monoecious and its fruits are more or less dull brown cone, 1" to 3" long. It has a beautiful Bark, where a special pattern can be found, gray-brown, but peels to show a red-orange color on it. An important thing to know on the way it is cultured is that prefers a well-drained, acidic soil However, a bad thing with the Scotch Pine can be that needles are sharp to the touch We can easily recognize a Pinus sylvestris with its needles have a 360 degree twist.
