The Veitch Fir, also referred as Abies veitchii, i usually found close to central and southern Japan. It usually looks like evergreen tree, making it a unique plant! In the summer, its leafs are changing looking like 0.5" to 1" long flattened needles and in the automn it generally looks like no fall color (evergreen). The Veitch Fir (Abies veitchii) has flowers that are no ornamental value and its fruits are more or less purplish brown cones. It has a beautiful Bark, where we see smooth light gray bark on it. An important information to know about its culture would be that prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soil Also, an inconvinient with the Veitch Fir can be that dislikes high pH We can easily recognize a Abies veitchii having its needles have notched tip. The Veitch Fir's propagation method is done in an interesting way since it is done by seed, stratification is beneficial
