The White Willow, referenced in Latin as Salix alba, i usually found close to central and southern Europe. It can generally be recognized as a deciduous, large tree, making it a unique plant! In the summer, its leafs are changing looking like alternate, simple, deciduous leaves and in the automn its foliage then is leaves turn bronze-yellow in fall. The White Willow (Salix alba) has flowers that are catkins and grows fruits that are capsule containing numerous glabrous seeds. It has a special bark, where we can see yellowish bark that is ridged and furrowed on it. An important information to know about its culture is that fast growing However, an inconvinient with the White Willow can be that numerous insect and disease problems: cankers, aphids, powdery mildew, rusts, leaf beetles, etc. You can recognize a Salix alba with its yellow, bitter tasting stems. The White Willow's propagation is very special since it does it by cuttings
